Zimbabwe acquires Heinz's stake in cooking oil firm (LINK)

Zimbabwe has taken over US food group HJ Heinz Co's 49 per cent stake in the African nation's leading cooking oil maker, the first major move in a drive by President Robert Mugabe to control foreign-owned firms.

This cannot go on much longer. Surely the country will collapse within the next year.

World diamond group head to assess gem claim (LINK)

The World Federation of Diamond Bourses, which represents exchanges from Bangkok to Antwerp, agreed to assess a stone claimed to be the world`s biggest diamond.

Today we bring you news from the esteemed Mining Journal! I'm sceptical about this diamond being real. I'm not a fan of the colour either, the Cullinan diamond is much prettier even though it's half the size.
