We all know what a globalized world we live in. But it is the subtleties of change caused by our world growing smaller that we sometimes miss. Now India takes on sci-fi.
Remember ‘ET,’ ‘Star Wars’ and a host of other sci-fi movies churned out from Hollywood?
Now India’s Bollywood brings us ‘Love Story 2050,’ where a pair of lovers step into a Time Machine and find themselves in a glittery Mumbai of the year 2050 which includes flying cars, holograms, Indian ninjas and yes, DANCING robots (I would mention the sex robots but this is a family site).
The movie is now in post production at Peter Jackson’s Weta Workshop (New Zealand) and John Cox (Brisbane, Australia) and should be released in June, 2008.
Sci-fi flick stars Priyanka Chopra (who plays a double role in the film), Harman Baweja (director Harry’s son) and Parsi actor Kurush Deboo who also played a nerd victim in Munnabhai MBBS.
Oh, and I forgot, also starring is a two-and-a-half foot tall robot named 'Boo' (created by Oscar winner John Cox) playing companion to the leading lady.
Of course Baweja is touting Love Story 2050 as the most expensive Bollywood film ever made but that is “par for the course” with Indian movies.
Get ready for quite a few spontaneous robot dancing scenes to rock the movie.
